managing mental health at work

As the workplace continues to evolve, we aim to better understand how the totality of our experiences impact mental health and how that impact shows up at work. As managers, you have a unique opportunity to create psychological safety for your teams by embracing neurodiversity, recognizing signs, reducing stigma, and building skills to promote productive conversations about mental health at work.

emotional fitness

Whether we’re consciously aware of it or not, emotions shape our thoughts, motivations, and behaviors from morning until night, every day of our lives. In this course we explore how to cultivate healthy emotional traits such as self-awareness, resilience, curiosity, empathy, and joy. We also discuss how these healthy emotional traits can apply to more productive relationships and outcomes at work.

mental health FIRST AID

Just as CPR helps you assist an individual having a heart attack, Mental Health Intervention (First Aid) teaches individuals how to assist someone experiencing a mental health or substance use-related crisis. In this course, your team will learn risk factors and warning signs for mental health and addiction concerns, strategies for how to help someone in both crisis and non-crisis situations, and where to turn for help.

mindfulness 101

Our minds, much like our bodies, require deliberate rest, exercise, and fitness training. Initiating a mindfulness practice can have a major impact on overall health but oftentimes it can be tough to know where to begin. In Mindfulness 101, we look at how meditation impacts the brain, common myths that act as barriers for people beginning to explore mindfulness and meditation, and how to build a sustainable practice.

The impact of mental illness

Millions of people in the U.S. are affected by mental health conditions each year. In 2020, nearly one in five U.S. adults reported living with a mental illness or health condition and these numbers are only anticipated to grow. According to the World Health Organization, 1 in 4 people will experience a mental health condition at some point in their lives.

Now is the time to come together to raise public awareness, reduce stigma at work, schools, and community, and advocate for better health care for all because these conditions not only impact our day-to-day living but also how we relate to one another.

If you have — or think you might have — a mental health condition, you are not alone. Contact our team to learn more about our mental health training programs.
